SÍM Gallery

Sýningarsalur SÍM er opinn félagsmönnum fyrir sýningar. Salurinn er í húsnæði félagsins í Hafnarstræti og hentar fyrir ýmis konar myndlist og innsetningar.

Viðhald og almenn þrif eftir sýningu, að því gefnu að listamaður skilsýningarrýminu hreinu og í sama ástandi og við upphaf leigutímans.

Umsóknir

Sótt er um með því að senda umsókn á salur@sim.is með lýsingu á verkefni (hámark 500 orð), stuttri kynningu á listamanni og ósk um sýningartímabil. Umsóknarfrestur fyrir árið 2027 rennur út til og með 23. ágúst 2026.

Almennir skilmálar

SÍM Gallery er staðsett í Hafnarstræti 16, 101 Reykjavík. Opnunartími er virka daga frá 10 -16 eða eftir samkomulagi. Listamenn sjá sjálfir um yfirsetu á laugardögum og almennum frídögum.

Listamenn sjá alfarið um upphengi og frágang á sýningarrými. Listamenn sjá um að útvega tækjabúnað ef þeir þurfa.

Listamaður skuldbindur sig til þess að skila rýminu í sama ástandi og að því var komið. SÍM ásetur sér rétt til að rukka aukalega 10.000 kr fyrir þrif og frágang á rými ef við teljum að ekki hafi verið gengið nógu vel frá.

SÍM tekur ekki prósentu af sölu listaverka. Öll sala er á ábyrgð listamanns.

SÍM vinnur kynningarefni í samstarfi við listamann og birtir tilkynningu um sýningar á heimasíðu SÍM og fréttabréfi og útbýr viðburð á Facebook auk þess að senda fréttatilkynningu.

Listamaður stendur sjálfur undir kostnaði við veitingar á opnun, prentun á sýningarskrá og öðrum tilfallandi kostnaði við sýningu.

Sýningargjaldið greiðist 2. nóvember. Hægt er að skipta greiðslu í tvennt. Greiðslan fyrir salinn fæst ekki endurgreiddur nema í tilvikum þar sem listamaður hættir við með a.m.k. 3 mánaða fyrirvara.

SÍM Gallery is available to members of SÍM for exhibitions. The gallery is located at SÍM’s premises in Hafnarstræti and is suitable for a wide range of visual art exhibitions and installations.

Exhibition Period

Exhibition periods are three to four weeks.

Gallery Fee

The fee for each exhibition period is ISK 50,000. The fee includes:

Rental and use of the gallery space
Maintenance and standard cleaning following the exhibition, provided that the artist returns the gallery space clean and in the same condition in which it was received.
Promotion on the SÍM website, in the newsletter, and on social media

Applications

To apply, please send an application to salur@sim.is, including a project description of no more than 500 words, a short artist biography, and your preferred exhibition period.

The application deadline for exhibitions in 2027 is 23 August 2026.

General Terms and Conditions

SÍM Gallery is located at Hafnarstræti 16, 101 Reykjavík. The gallery is open on weekdays from 10:00 to 16:00, or by agreement. Artists are responsible for supervising the gallery on Saturdays and public holidays.

Artists are fully responsible for installing their exhibition and restoring the gallery space afterwards. Artists must provide any technical equipment they require.

The artist undertakes to return the gallery space in the same condition in which it was received. SÍM reserves the right to charge an additional ISK 10,000 cleaning and restoration fee if the space has not been left in a satisfactory condition.

SÍM does not charge commission on the sale of artworks. All sales are the sole responsibility of the artist.

SÍM prepares promotional material in collaboration with the artist. SÍM will publish an exhibition announcement on its website and in its newsletter, create a Facebook event, and distribute a press release.

The artist is responsible for the cost of refreshments at the opening, the printing of exhibition catalogues, and any other costs associated with the exhibition.

The exhibition fee is payable by November 2nd. The payment may be divided into two instalments. The exhibition fee is non-refundable unless the artist cancels at least three months in advance.
