TIDAL ArtS is an EU-funded project that combines the power of art and science to inspire action for our ocean and waters. As an official project of the EU Mission to Restore our Ocean and Waters by 2030, we believe that creativity has the power to transform how we think, feel, and act towards our environment. We know that art can be a catalyst for action – that’s why we’re seeking artists, collectives, and creatives to join TIDAL ArtS! This is your chance to contribute to a novel initiative that will engage communities and amplify the message, “there is no green without blue.”

Through grants to produce motivating public art – including fostering collaboration between artists, citizens, and scientists – TIDAL ArtS seeks to engage communities and raise awareness to promote the protection and restoration of our ocean and inland waters. If you are passionate about using your creativity to make a difference, we encourage you to apply to these exciting opportunities to combine your art with science to further engage and inspire our fellow citizens for the betterment of our planet.

The Lighthouse Calls are part of the TIDAL ArtS initiative, funded by the EU to support the Mission to Restore Our Ocean and Waters by 2030. Through this open call, 20 artists, collectives, and creatives across Europe will be awarded €15,000 grants to create community-focused artworks. The selected projects must connect citizens to their aquatic environments and raise awareness of environmental challenges through artistic expression. Five artists will be chosen from each of four designated “Lighthouse” regions—Atlantic-Arctic, Mediterranean, Baltic-North Sea, and Danube-Black Sea. Projects must be completed by June 2026 and involve collaboration with scientists, educators, and communities.
