Samsýning: Voyage í Craft Museum Finnlandi
You are warmly welcomed to the opening of the first International Mini Textile Art Exhibition in Craft Museum Of Finland in the city of Jyväskylä 8th of September at 18.00. Museum is located in Kauppakatu 25, Jyväskylä.
Voyage-exhibition explores the concept and thought of a journey into the art. The exhibition brings together 49 artists from 25 countries to express their creative visions. The selected artworks deal with the subject in a multitude of ways. A voyage is seen for instance as an abstract theme connected to life, time and space, or as a literal and concrete object. Mini art exhibitions are a well known tradition within the field of textile art. The scale of the artworks is usually limited to the maximum dimension of 20 cm. The small scale creates balance to the idea of monumental art that is often seen in the artworld. Also it is a statement in its own way.
The exhibition is organized and curated by the Finnish Association of New Textile Art - UUTE Ry in cooperation with the Craft Museum Of Finland in the city of Jyväskylä.
This exhibition has received support from The Arts Promotion Centre Finland TAIKE.
