Í haust er boðið upp á fjórar sýningar á Listasafni Árnesinga. Áhugi á þeirri merkingarsköpun sem verður til í tengslum manneskju við umhverfi sitt er sameiginlegur snertiflötur milli sýninganna. Þegar landslag er skimað berst það áhorfandanum gegnum síu persónulegrar skynjunar og sjónarhorns. Það sama er uppi á teningnum þegar við hlýðum á tungumál eða upplifum lífið í hversdagsleika sínum. Sem túlkendur höfum við áhrif á það hvernig heimurinn birtist okkur.

Í vídeóhorni eru einnig kynnt vídeóverk eftir Katarzyna Zabłocka.

LÁ Art Museum is presenting four autumn exhibitions united by a common thread: the meaning that arises from the connection between people and their environments. A landscape reaches the observer only through the filter of personal perception, just as language and the texture of everyday life do. We are all interpreters, and as such, we shape how the world appears to us.

In our Videocorner, we present work by Katarzyna Zabłocka.

Sýningin Tengsl II konur leiðir saman sex listakonur frá Íslandi og Austurríki –
þær Huldu Vilhjálmsdóttur, Kristínu Gunnlaugsdóttur,
Sigríði Rut Marrow, Birgit Graschopf, Ramonu Schnekenburger og Tönju Prušnik. Til sýnis eru fjölbreytileg verk, sprottin úr ólíkum
reynsluheimum, sem eiga það m.a. sammerkt að hverfast um líkamleika og tengsl.
Dreginn er fram þáttur líkamans í myndun tengsla við okkur sjálf, aðrar verur,
guðleikann og umhverfið.

The exhibition Relations II– Women brings together six female artists from Iceland and Austria: Hulda Vilhjálmsdóttir, Kristín Gunnlaugsdóttir, Sigríður Rut Marrow, Birgit Graschopf, Ramona Schnekenburger, and Tanja Prušnik. Their diverse works, stemming from varied lived experiences, share a common focus on physicality and connection, highlighting the role of the body in forging connections with ourselves, other beings, the divine, and the environment.

Weronika Balcerak og Lukas Bury, sem saman mynda listamannatvíeykið Austur-Íslendingar, bjóða upp á sýninguna Gullni hringurinn. Í henni er sjónum beint að túrisma í því skyni að skoða áhrif frásagna á umhverfisskynjun. Með beitingu ólíkra listforma afhjúpa listamennirnir hvernig þær sögur sem sagðar eru um landslag lita upplifun fólks af því.

Weronika Balcerak and Lukas Bury, who together form the artist duo Austur-Íslendingar, present the exhibition The Golden Circle, which uses tourism as a lens to examine how narratives shape the perception of the environment. Through a range of art forms, the artists reveal how the stories told about a landscape shape people's experience of it.

Halldór Ragnarsson skoðar tungumálið í samhengi við sannleika og merkingu í sýningu sem ber titilinn Satt/ósatt. Tungumálinu er m.a. stillt
upp sem yfirborði sem leynt getur á sér. Því er sömuleiðis stillt upp sem
byggingu sem lesandi nemur bæði sjónrænt og upplifir tilfinningalega.
Listamaðurinn sýnir hvernig merking orða liggur ekki aðeins í þeim sjálfum
heldur mótast af athygli og lestri lesandans sjálfs.

Halldór Ragnarsson examines language in the context of truth and meaning in the exhibition True/False. Language is presented, among other things, as a surface that can be deceptive as well as a structure that the reader perceives visually and experiences emotionally. The artist demonstrates how the meaning of words does not reside solely within the words themselves but is shaped by the attention and reading process of the reader.

Á safneignarsýningunni Þar sem landið hefst er boðið upp á samtal um landslagsmálverkið og þróun þess. Horft er til þess hve veigamiklu hlutverki landslag gegnir í lífum okkar og þeirrar merkingar sem við ljáum því. Þannig er landslagsmálverk ekki aðeins eftirlíking af umhverfi heldur vitnisburður um persónulega sýn listmálarans á það.

The exhibition Where the Land Begins, drawn from the museum's collection, invites a dialogue on landscape painting and its evolution, considering the significant role landscape plays in our lives and the meaning we attribute to it. Landscape painting, then, is not merely a replication of the environment but a testament to the artist's personal vision of it.
