Open Call for Skagen AiR – artist-in-residency program for Nordic artists

The Art Museums of Skagen has now for the second time Open Call for the residency program: Skagen AiR.

Skagen AiR is open to Nordic artists from Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Greenland, Iceland, and Faroe Islands irrespective of art form, who would like to spend a period of twelve weeks in Skagen immersed in their own work and actively engaged in the town and its distinctive art and cultural history surrounded by the unique nature of Skagen. The Art Museums of Skagen wish to rekindle artistic life in Skagen.

The museum's new artist in residency programme Skagen AiR ensures that artists will move into the Museum's three studios: P.S. Krøyer's and Michael Ancher's studios in the garden of Skagen Museum and Saxild Studio in the garden of Anchers Hus. Skagen AiR will create new artistic connections between Skagen of 2024 and the heritage left by the Skagen painters and the artists’ colony around them.

Read more about Skagen AiR at www.skagenair.com and apply here. Application deadline: 5 May 2024.
