Glundroði er sýning og samstarf á milli Joe Keys og Svövu Björnsdóttur, tveggja myndlistarmanna sem eru fæddir með dags millibili auk nokkurra áratuga. Svava vinnur þrívíð verk og vinnur aðallega með pappír sem efnivið. Hún býr til stóra og litríka skúlptúra, oft geómetríska – stundum líka flæðandi og lífræna. Joe hins vegar vinnur skúlptúra úr fundnu efni og afgöngum, pappír kemur þar stundum við sögu en líka fjölmörg önnur efni.

Aðalmunurinn á milli þessara listamanna er stærð og skali, en það sem tengir þá er
sameiginlegur áhugi á formi og efni. Á sýningunni í 1.h.v. má sjá nýleg verk eftir
listamennina sem hafa þróast með fínlegum skírskotunum í verk hvors annars, hvort sem það er af
ásettu ráði eða ekki.

Unevening is an exhibition and collaboration between Joe Keys and Svava Björnsdóttir
two artists born one day apart, though a few decades also. Svava has a sculptural
practice, predominantly using paper, she makes large sculptures often geometric, though
sometimes fluid and biological shapes, made from paper pulp and coloured pigment. Joe,
on the other hand, has a relationship to sculpture through found material and leftovers,
paper comes somewhere between these brackets, but plenty of other materials too. The
obvious contrast between these artists is scale, though what they have in common is their
intrigue in form and material. The exhibition in 1.h.v. will present recent works from both
artists that have evolved with subtle references to one another, whether intentional or not.
