The duo show "Salted Peelings" presents a dialogue between two artists who collect, transform and assemble various materials. In Guðný Rósa Ingimarsdóttir's work, each piece is slowly built up, sometimes over years, from carefully preserved fragments. Following her retrospective exhibition in Reykjavik and her solo presentation at Art on Paper, this exhibition will offer a combination of new works and highlights from the artist's archive. Esther Gatón's practice is characterised by a system of grafting and propagation, where biomorphic or osseous forms develop from organic residues transformed into bioplastic materials. The Spanish artist, who is currently in residence at WIELS, will unveil a series of installations floating in the gallery space.
