EUROPEAN BIENNALE OF CONTEMPORARY ART – 2022 – Free style
BIENNALE EUROPEENNE D' ART CONTEMPORAIN
Pre-selection:
. Artists living in the European Union, in Switzerland, in Norway, in Iceland and in the U.K.
of Great Britain may apply for the 2nd edition of the European Biennale of Contemporary Art
by sending one and one only JPEG photo file of good quality of the work presented which
will be identified with the artists' names between January 1st and February 28th 2022.
. In the same mail, they will send the following information on a single A4 format document:
full name, pseudonym if any, date and place of birth, postal address, telephone number &
title, nature and size of the art work presented. This information will remain confidential.
. A membership fee of € 30.00 for the non-profit association organizing the European
Biennale of Contemporary Art will be paid. The fee covers admin costs and is non-refundable
regardless of the outcome of the selection process. Once an artwork is accepted for
exhibition there will be no other fees for artists. The fee can be paid with a French chèque
(residents in France), a SEPA bank transfer – ask for the IBAN first - (residents in the
European Union only) or any other payment involving no expenses for the Gallery.
Selection:
. A jury presided over by Pierre Assémat and composed of the board of administrators of the
Gallery, will select about twelve works before 6th March 2022, date when the results will be
given by mail.
. The selected candidates will then send by Registered mail or bring their artwork to the
Gallery so that it reaches the Gallery before March 31st 2022 at 8 pm.
. On 8th April 2022, the jury will meet again and proclaim the name of the laureate. The
artist will present a solo exhibition of his works at the Gallery in June 2023 and will receive a
sum of € 1000,00 in exchange for his work. The Gallery will put it on sale, together with the
other selected works, in the show that will take place from 1st till 30th June 2022. A
commission of 10 % on the sales will be kept by the Gallery. In the unlikely event that COVID
persists until June 2022 or June 2023, the exhibitions may be delayed but will not be
cancelled in any circumstance.
. The works which will not be sold during the Biennale show will have to be collected before
the end of the year or will be sent back at the participants' expenses in their original
packages.
