Muggur is a fund established by the Reykjavík Cultural Affairs Committee, SÍM and Myndstef in 2004 and SÍM is the fund's supervisor.
The role of the fund is to support artists for a temporary stay abroad for an exhibition, workshop or other similar art project. In this way, the fund is intended to strengthen the visual arts work in Reykjavík and strengthen the image of the City of Reykjavík as a progressive cultural city in the world. The establishment of the fund is part of making the City of Reykjavík a platform for international art trends.
MUGGUR provides grants in weeks, ISK. 50,000.- for a week's stay abroad.
Occasionally grants are awarded for several weeks, but never more than 3 weeks at a time,
or a maximum of ISK 150,000.-
