The Association of Icelandic Visual Artists, or SÍM, was founded in 1982 and is an interest association of visual artists, with about 950 members.

SÍM SERVICES

Artótek offers art for rent and sale by artists who are members of SÍM. The main goal is to make Icelandic contemporary art accessible to as many people as possible and to give people the option to rent or acquire art in a simple way.

STUDIOS

SÍM rents out studios to members

in nine studio buildings in the capital area, counting around 200 individual studios.The studios are usually fully utilised, but members can go on a waiting list and apply if a studio becomes available.

SÍM RESIDENCY

SÍM Residency is an international residency for visual artists located in Reykjavík, Iceland. Having started in 2002 with a small one-bedroom apartment and studio in downtown Reykjavik, our residency now welcomes over 150 artists from all over the world on an annual basis.
